The world’s best skier met at Beaver Creek Resort for the only United States tour stop. Hundreds of fans packed the Red Tail Stadium to watch the Men’s Downhill, Men’s Super-G and Men’s Giant Slalom Races.
Ted Ligety, a crowd favorite in the GS unfortunately caught an edge and did not finish.
Austrian Marcel Hirscher speedily maneuvered through the gates and won the GS on Sunday.
Beaver Creek in the beginning of the season is a special place. The racers, the mountain and the beautiful Beaver Creek Village are a sight to see especially before the crowds come.
On a day that the sun was shining on Beaver Creek there was a special moment for another American Skier. On Sunday, Lindsey Vonn completed a sweep of World Cup races in Lake Louise by winning the Super-G. She also won both downhill races over the weekend. This earns Vonn her 70th World Cup victory.
