August 1 & 8                                       Concerts by the Creek
The Vail Valley’s best kept secret, Concerts by the Creek is Beaver Creek’s Wednesday evening free live music series. Enjoy the music as the sun sets on the mountains from Creekside Park. Music starts at 5:30pm and snacks and drinks are available for purchase, so all you need to bring are a blanket and some friends! The museum is a wonderful adventure for the curious and creative at heart and brings out the “maker” in all of us. The Beaver Creek Children’s Museum is where tactile learning is part of the play and discovery process, with invention and discovery workshops, and tools ranging from Legos, Keva Planks and Tinker Toys to electrical and robot-building kits. The Children’s Museum is open every WednesdaySunday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. The museum is located on the lower level of the Gerald R. Ford Hall, at the top of the plaza fountain, and access is complimentary.

August 2 & 9                                       17th Annual Beaver Creek Rodeo Series
A true Rodeo experience with that uniquely Beaver Creek touch. Now in its 17th year, the Beaver Creek Rodeo Series has become the main event of summer in the Vail Valley. Every Thursday night professional riders take center stage while attendees are invited to take part in a range interactive events like mutton bustin’ for the kids or a team burro race for brave adults. No Beaver Creek event is complete without a delicious culinary experience, so sip a margarita or local brew and enjoy Western inspired offerings from a range of local restaurants. August 3                                              VPAC Summer Series – Tower of Power – 50th Anniversary Tour 2018
Located in the heart of Colorado’s Beaver Creek Resort, VPAC’s 535-seat theatre presents a variety of year-round performances including jazz, comedy, dance, film, Broadway musicals, theatre, rock concerts, family shows and more.

For close to 50 years, Tower of Power has delivered the best in Rhythm and Blues music. When asked to describe the band’s music, the group members give a variety of responses. August 5                                              VPAC Summer Series – The Psychedelic Furs
Located in the heart of Colorado’s Beaver Creek Resort, the VPAC’s 535-seat theatre presents a variety of year-round performances including jazz, comedy, dance, film, Broadway musicals, theatre, rock concerts, family shows and more.

If you were to dissect today’s alternative rock music, you’ll find that much of it pays homage to The Psychedelic Furs. Led by vocalist and songwriter Richard Butler, and his bass-wielding brother Tim, the Furs scored major hits with “Love My Way,” “Pretty In Pink,” “Heaven,” “The Ghost In You,” and “Heartbreak Beat” in all releasing seven studio albums, spawning several compilations. Born out of the post-punk UK rock scene, the Furs quickly developed as one of the premiere bands on US College and Modern Rock radio scoring a multitude of #1 singles. With the advent of MTV in the early 80’s the band took off into the stratosphere, and when John Hughes’ approached the band with his film built around the Furs’ song “Pretty In Pink”, the band’s legacy was cemented. August 10                                            VPAC Summer Series – Plain White T’s
Located in the heart of Colorado’s Beaver Creek Resort, the VPAC’s 535-seat theatre presents a variety of year-round performances including jazz, comedy, dance, film, Broadway musicals, theatre, rock concerts, family shows and more.

Plain White T’s are an American rock band from Lombard, Illinois, formed in 1997 by high school friends Tom Higgenson, Dave Tirio and Ken Fletcher. They were joined a short time later by Steve Mast. The group had a mostly underground following in Chicago in its early years. The band is best known for the number-one hit song “Hey There Delilah”, which achieved platinum status in 2007 and earned two Grammy nominations, as well as “1234” and “Rhythm of Love”, which were certified platinum in 2009 and 2011. Multi-platinum MCA Nashville recording artist Josh Turner, is one of country music’s most recognizable hit-makers. With a rich, deep voice and distinctive style, Turner has sold more than 8 million units, is a disciple of traditional country music and one of the youngest members of the esteemed Grand Ole Opry.  From his 2003 platinum-selling debut Long Black Train to his most recent 2017 Billboard No. 1 release, Deep South, Turner has garnered multiple GRAMMY, CMA, and ACM nominations. August 19                                            TransRockies Run
Six days, 120 miles and 20,000 feet of elevation gain invite enthusiastic runners to savor an adventure of a lifetime. Participants choose between a six-day team run and a three-day solo run, starting in Buena Vista, CO and finishing in the Beaver Creek Village. August 22                                            Beaver Creek Blast Bike Race
Beaver Creek is host to the final race in the seven-event series, during which riders tackle the summer’s longest course. Participants enjoy Beaver Creek’s beautiful single track trails and mountain vistas before celebrating in the Beaver Creek Village.

August 23                                            VPAC Summer Series – Don McLean

September 1-2                                   19th Annual Beaver Creek Oktoberfest
Soak up one of the last true weekends of summer in the mountains at the 19th Annual Beaver Creek Oktoberfest! The beers, brats and Bavarian fun pair perfectly with the endless outdoor activities in our stunning alpine setting. So enjoy a hike, bike ride or round of golf in the morning and then don your dirndl or leiderhosen for an afternoon of fun in the heart of Beaver Creek’s Bavarian-inspired Village. The afternoon includes an array of fun, from kids’ activities to the Alpenhorn blowing contests and costume contests. Beaver Creek’s longstanding friendship with sister-city Lech-Zuers, Austria, only adds to the authenticity of the event, with Lech-Zuers traditional band, Trachtenkapelle, headlining the music lineup as well as Beaver Creek’s own Helmut Fricker, and tribute bands The Killer Queens and ZOSO.  Event Photos

September 2                                       Oktoberfest Shuffle
What tastes better than beer and a brat? A beer and a brat that you’ve earned running for a good cause! On Saturday of Oktoberfest, spend the morning enjoying the beauty of Beaver Creek’s trails with the Beaver Creek Oktoberfest Shuffle. Sign up for the 5k, 10k or 1k family race and build up your appetite for the day while supporting the Vail Valley Charitable Fund. All proceeds go to the fund, which helps those living in the Vail Valley experiencing financial hardship due to medical crisis. Event Photos
