Boulder alt-country-rock band Gasoline Lollipops heads to the Vail Valley on Friday, September 1 to play Agave in Avon at 9:30pm. Tickets are $5 at AgaveAvon.com or $10 at the door.
According to the Denver Post, the unique sounds of Gasoline Lollipops (fronted by singer-songwriter Clay Rose) are like “the Coen Brothers and Nick Cave holed up in Nashville after a near-death experience.” Gasoline Lollipops is a Boulder band that combines the sincerity of dirt-floor folk with the energy and rebelliousness of punk. It’s an all-new incarnation of alt-country that’s both high-energy and heartfelt, like the American highway’s soundtrack.
This year Colorado Daily readers voted Gasoline Lollipops “Best Local Musician/Group” for 2017. In 2016, Denver Westword named Gasoline Lollipops “Best Country Artist.” The group, which released its debut LP *Resurrection* on Valentine’s Day 2017, plays its first European tour this fall and will celebrate the release of *Soul Mine* on Saturday, December 16 at the Fox Theatre in Boulder.
