Meet the Chef Reception, the first event of the Food and Wine event at Beaver Creek, was far from you casual cocktail party. All the beautiful people were there enjoying the best of the best of Colorado inspired hors d’oeuvres and fine wines. Actually, this photo is from a poster for “If you see Kay”, wicked Italian red wine. And it was tasty…truly wicked!

Murray’s out of Greenwhich Village, New York Cheese Shop featured gourmet cheeses that were far from ordinary. Below are featured Colorado cheeses and Paige Yim from Murray’s who shared her wonderful smile and enthusiasm about all the cheeses…..And the best part, you don’t have to fly to New York to get these wonderful cheeses, they are all available at our local City Market.

My favorite Pinot Noir, a buttery wine from Willamette Valley, Oregon

Stephen Gonda poured some tasty wine from The Spire Collection. The wine was called Mt.Brave. Delicious!!

Local chef, Kirk Weems from Allies Cabin created a Ruben House Cured Beef appetizer which was delicious. I wonder if they serve Rubens at Allies in the winter?

Local celebrity chef, Danial Joly from Mirabelles in Beaver Creek enjoying a cold beer with a fellow chef.

This intimate affair allowed the average foodie to mingle with some of the best chefs in the country. Gail Simmons is very sweet. Pick up next summer’s magazine and find out what is Gail’s favorite sandwich.

This wonderful event was hosted by the new Black Diamond Bistro and owners, brother and sister team, James Misakian and Lisa Misakian. Stop by this new restaurant in the Charter in Beaver Creek.
