6th Annual Vail Summer Bluegrass Series Reveals Lineup, Venue Change

  (Vail, Colo.) March 18, 2019 – Mountain biking. Trout fishing. The Epic Discovery Course. Tubing (yes, summer tubing). The summer in Vail offers no shortage of entertainment and fun, on-mountain and in town. One of Town’s hidden gems for the past five summers has been the Bluegrass Series, which has hosted a number of world-class artists including the Travelin’ McCourys, Tyler Childers, Oteil Burbridge (Dead & Company), Sarah Jarosz and more. 2019 Lineup For its sixth iteration, Vail Bluegrass is proud to reveal its complete music lineup featuring a number of bands who are Vail summer vets, as well as some new talent. Vail Mountain Opens Blue Sky Basin

VAIL, Colo. – Nov. 29, 2018 – After receiving an additional four inches of snow overnight and more in the forecast through the weekend, Vail Mountain opened Blue Sky Basin today. This is the second-earliest opening for Blue Sky Basin in history, behind only the Nov. 25, 2002 opening. Vail is now offering 4,200 skiable acres of terrain, the most currently open in North America.   “There is no doubt that Vail is the place to be for the holidays. We have almost 80 percent of the resort’s terrain open, and it is still November,” said Doug Lovell, Vail chief operating officer. “This is the strongest start to a season that we’ve seen in decades, and it is only looking to improve with more snow expected over the weekend. Vail Mountain Offering Most Open Terrain in North America Resort Opens China and Tea Cup Bowls VAIL, Colo. – Nov. 26, 2018 – Continuing its legendary start to the 2018-2019 season, Vail Mountain opened China Bowl and Tea Cup Bowl today, with plans to open terrain in Siberia Bowl on Tuesday. Help Epic Mountain Express Fill the Van on Saturday, Nov. 3   The 2017 Fill the Van drive collected more than $12,000 in cash and more than 27,000 pounds in food donations for Colorado food banks   EDWARDS, Colo., Nov. 1, 2018 – Epic Mountain Express will host its 21st Annual “Fill the Van” food drive on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., when thousands of pounds of food will be collected across Colorado’s mountain communities for food banks. Vail Mountain to Open for Summer Operations on Friday

  VAIL, Colo. – May 30, 2018 – Vail Mountain will open for summer scenic rides and dining on Friday, June 1, 2018 with access to Gondola One out of Vail Village during the weekend. Operations will expand to daily mountain access via Gondola One in Vail Village and the Eagle Bahn Gondola in Lionshead Village on Friday, June 8, 2018. Epic Discovery will open for the third summer at Vail Mountain on Friday, June 8, 2018. The 36th Fips-Mouche Fly Fishing World Championships

All this week September 11th-18th Vail is hosting the 36th Fips-Mouche Fly Fishing World Championships. The town hosted the opening ceremony and will be hosting the closing ceremony. Tickets are available at http://www.wffc2016.com/ Driving along the highway you may have noticed flags along the river. These are sectors of water where the teams will be competing. There are five sectors; Sector I is located near Wolcott, Eagle River Upper. Sector II is located in Gypsum on Gypsum Ponds, Eagle River Lower. Sector III is on the Colorado River near Dotsero. Sector IV is located on Sylvan Lake. Lastly, Sector V is located on Blue River. There are loch sectors and river sectors.
