I attended the Men’s Halfpipe Competition as part of the Burton US Open.The Athletes were fresh out of the olympic games in Sochi, and ready to prove they aren’t just one trick ponies. They will make you want to get out there and try harder… or continue on another career path all together. Either way these pros are fun to watch!

The 31st U.S Open prepares for a new host this year, Vail, Colorado. The U.S. open will feature the world’s best riders February 25-March 2, 2013. The event will feature both slopestyle and halfpipe events all being held at Vail’s GoldenPeak location. Here is a sneak peak of the building of what is to come next week. A new 22 foot high, 600 feet long superpipe opened last week at Golden Peak. This may be considered the longest half pipe in the world. Vail’s Olympic size half pipe was constructed for the Burton US open that will be held in Vail Feb. 25 to Mar. 2. The half pipe can be viewed through out Vail Village high points, gondola one, chair 6 and 12 and at the base of Golden Peak. Make sure to come out and check out the newest addition to Vail’s terrain park.
